Fully Loaded Everything you need to start the 2018 shooting season strong 16 PULLUSA MAGAZINE WINTER 2017 photos by STAN WALDHAUSER BERETTA A400 // beretta.com The striking blue receiver might be the first thing that catches the eye on Beretta's A400 Xcel semi-auto shotgun, but for those looking for a solid 12-gauge competition shotgun, Beretta claims the A400 is faster cycling, softer-shooting and better balanced than anything else on the market. The shotgun incorporates several recoil-reducing systems to back up that claim. One is a hydraulic shock absorber that softens the rearward energy from the action's moving parts, which minimizes felt recoil while reducing wear within the receiver. Another is a Micro-Core recoil pad that helps neutralize the recoil generated by the power of the cartridge. In addition, the A400 Xcel's forged barrel is made of Beretta's "Steelium," a proprietary formula engineered for consistency, toughness and durability. MSRP: $1,600
