He chose 16 at UND because No. 12 is retired in honor of Terry Casey, who played at UND from 1963-68 and died in a car crash at the age of 23. NHL Team You Followed Most Growing Up: Minnesota Wild Favorite USA Hockey Memory: The 1980 Olympic team winning the gold medal. Favorite Hockey Memory: Winning the national champion- ship at North Dakota. Three Things You Love About Hockey: I love how fun it is, the passion people have and the friendships I've made. Favorite Movie: Never Back Down Best Person To Follow On Social Media: Ellen DeGeneres Most Influential Person In Your Life: My dad, Duke. He has Parkinson's and stays strong through all of the hardships. Best Pump-Up Music: EDM Plans After Hockey: To be a coach and help kids play hockey. Biggest Obstacle You've Overcome: Losing one of my best friends in a car accident. Other Sports Played: Baseball Q U I C K H I T S Eats a pregame meal followed by a nap. Listens to music as he is getting ready and tapes his stick and socks before each game. Also plays soccer before each game.
